The jewellery course encourages you to explore simple to intermediate jewellery manufacturing techniques
You will create your own jewellery using techniques such as sawing, piercing, filing, soldering, bending, sanding and polishing.
After an introduction to working with metal and the use of the studio's tools, you will be taken through the process of creating your first sterling silver ring.
For those that are not absolute beginners you will be encouraged to bring your own designs or ideas of jewellery that you would like to make. Each person is then assisted with manufacturing the jewellery of their dreams.
It is up to the individual as to how advanced your manufacturing develops. Students who attend this course have gone on to do the 1 month advanced course or study full-time in the Diploma in Jewellery Design.
The fee includes the use of the Schools facilities and tools, but not consumable materials.
The starter tool kit is available from the lecturer for R240.
