The word \u003cb style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\"\u003ecollagraph\u003c\/b\u003e is used to describe the printed result of a variety of materials glued together on a base and printed relief or intaglio. The derivation of the word stems from the Greek term colla, meaning glue, and from the English word graphic, pertaining to printed matter. The collagraph is mainly an additive method whereby the printing surface is built up by gluing various textured materials and objects to a support. The quality of the print relies on the tones and contrasts set up by the various textures of the materials used. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"\u003eVarious textured materials are arranged to form an image\/design and glued to the support (which needs to be a thin, strong material like mountboard) with glue. The range of surface materials you can use is limitless as long as they are not thick. Succulent plants are not suitable. Also take care not to use metal or anything sharp that might damage the blanket of the press.
