The Outreach Skills Programme 2025 teaches unemployed adults from previously disadvantaged communities to develop art and craft skills.

The programme supports the youth from ages 18 to 35 years.

Enrol for Drawing; Painting and Printmaking

You will be taught:

  • Making marketable products
  • Packaging and pricing work
  • Set up your own small micro businesses to generate an income
  • Develop your creative skills
  • Generate a portfolio for applications to study formally

Course Content

Basic Contour Drawing and Line drawing
Contour drawing and tone- a landscape from source imagery
Contour drawing and tone- drawing from life- an object
Contour drawing and tone- drawing from life- an object
Contour drawing and tone- mark making and abstraction
Exploration of drawing media and mark-making
Labels and Branding and Pricing
Skills in setting up a display and hanging an exhibition
The exploration of colour and mixing
Priming surfaces
Painting a landscape
Painting an abstract painting
Painting of a 3-dimensional form
Undertanding linocut tools- veiners and gouges
Use of a roller, Ink viscocity; water based ink
Scale; mark- making
Making Linocuts
Linocuts- Making and Printing Artworks
Linocuts- Making and Printing Cards
Linocuts- Making and Printing Stamps
Mounting and Framing prints
Understanding kinds of paper for printing; gsm; grain

 

Classes
Classes run as per the module schedule.
Tuition, course materials and transport are provided at no cost to learners.

Application and Admission Requirements

  • Applicants are required to commit to the full program and achieve a minimum of 80% attendance.
  • Applicants are required to be punctual. Classes are from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Tuesday to Friday for 24 Lessons
  • Applicants are required to bring their ID Document so that we can make a copy.
  • Applicants must apply

Support

As this is a skills development programme, no salaries or stipends are paid to learners. However:

  • Learners will be provided with transport support.
  • Learners will be provided with subsistence for the day.
  • Learners will be provided with all materials.
  • Learners will be provided with tuition at no cost.
