Britney PRETORIUS

When creating my designs, I draw inspiration from the events and experiences that shape my life. Each project is a process from that which is known new information and concepts to explore deeper meanings. When framing ideas I explore the subtext to highlight personal and universal themes.

My background in sports and conditioning often finds its way into my work, this creates a unique mark on my design. This approach allows me to infuse a common thread throughout my projects, setting my work apart by combining physicality and conceptual depth. This can be seen in my corporate identity for Prio Ride where I use the mechanical aspects of skating and bring them into the logo design and can be seen in my illustration showcasing the mechanics of the sport.

About my hearing disability, I used it to my advantage when I created a social awareness campaign for getting my ears tested. These are some ways I use my personal experiences and create my concepts in my designs.
