Mia’s themes center around dream symbolism as she finds it rich in meaning and creativity. Her jewellery pieces mainly consist of sculptural pieces that uphold a personal subjective signature and showcase non-commercial pieces rich in imagery. This imagery is mostly gathered from the natural phenomena of the Namib Desert.

Joubert also uses different casting techniques and alternative materials in her jewellery.

Water is the word that comes to mind when looking at her pieces as the colours and flowing lines create movement and an overall theme of surrender.

Dream symbolism and my lifelong fascination with patterns, riddles, and mythology inspire the jewellery.

As this collection was designed and manufactured during the Covid Pandemic, there are multiple references to some of the shared behavioral implications created by the pandemic.
