Winter School 2026 Jewellery ROLL PRESS
COURSE OUTLINE
Find out more about the Jewellery Department at Ruth Prowse School of Art by signing up to make your own silver pendant and experience the jewellery studio. Our very own alumna Mikaela Gordon will be sharing her roll press skills and assist you to create a roll press pendant in silver on leather chord. Learn how to anneal metal, roll pattern into metal surface, shape/saw pendant and polish to a bright finish before securing onto leather chord.

CLASS SIZE: This class is limited to 10 students.
All materials are included in R580 kit and supplied by RPSA: Copper, Brass, Leather Chord, Saw blades, Sandpapers, Silver and materials for patterns.

ABOUT THE LECTURER:
Mikaela is a jewellery designer whose work explores the intersection of adornment, ancient culture and nature. A graduate of Ruth Prowse School of Art and former goldsmithing apprentice with The Lighthouse of Healing NPC, she creates sculptural pieces inspired by the quiet intelligence woven throughout the natural world and sacred geometry. Through Maji Adornment, and in her role as a guest lecturer at Ruth Prowse, she honours jewellery as both craft and offering - inviting a deeper sense of connection, belonging, and remembrance.
